What does the word “English” in Assumption English School mean? Does the school only teach the English Language / do students need to be strong in the English language to enter the school?
Just like many other secondary schools in Singapore, AES follows the Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum. Admissions are centrally facilitated by MOE.
The school name originates from our unique heritage – AES was founded in 1953 by Brother Vincent as one of the three components of Boys’ Town and was then known as Boys’ Town English School. In 1973, the School took on the name of Assumption English School in honour of our Lady, Mother Mary, the Patroness of the Brothers of St Gabriel.
