I am importing an item that is controlled under the Strategic Goods (Control) Act (SGCA). Do I have to apply for a Strategic Goods permit before importing the item?

The import of strategic goods is not controlled under the Strategic Goods (Control) Act. Please obtain a general TradeNet inward permit, instead of a strategic goods permit, for the import of strategic goods.

Additionally, please note that the import certain goods are subject to control by other Competent Authorities (CAs). You may wish to check if the products that you intend to import into Singapore are subject to control by the CAs via the HS/CA Product Code search engine.
