I am importing pets into Singapore. What are the Customs requirements and procedures for the import?

The importation of pets incurs Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is calculated based on the Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) value of the pets. Costs may include the selling commission, cost of inland transportation to port of exportation, handling and document charges at port of exportation, cost of overseas freight and cost of insurance.

All importation of pets is regulated by the Animal and the Veterinary Service (AVS) under the National Parks Board (NParks). The importer should abide by AVS's import licence and pet quarantine requirements.

For more information, please refer to AVS's website.
