Lower-income families with difficult family circumstances and require help to pay the infant/child care programme fee even after Basic and Additional subsidies can apply for Child Care Financial Assistance (CCFA) and/or Start-Up Grant (SUG). CCFA is fee assistance which can be used to settle the childcare fee after childcare subsidies. To qualify for CCFA, the applicant should be working with a gross monthly household income of $3,500 or less or per capita income of $875 or less, with the child enrolled at an affordable preschool centre. SUG is a one-time grant to cover the initial costs of enrolling a child at an affordable infant/childcare preschool centre. The SUG is capped at $1,000 per child (inclusive of GST, if applicable) and covers the registration fee, deposit, school uniform, insurance and mattress. All CCFA/SUG applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval.
