A self-employed person is required by law to make Medisave contributions if his/her yearly net trade income exceeds $6,000. For application of worker licences, such applicants must ensure that the Medisave contributions have been done (or arrangements made with the CPF Board to settle the Medisave contributions by instalments). Applicants who are 65 years or older are also required to obtain medical certification from a Registered Medical Practitioner. This is to certify the fitness of the licence holder in carrying out authorised works under his/her licence. Visit the CPF website for more information on Medisave for the self-employed scheme or to check your Medisave liabilities status.
