The QR code generated from the MyICA mobile app is designed with security measures to protect personal information and prevent unauthorised access. The QR code will be encrypted to safeguard personal data, which can only be retrieved and decrypted by authorised ICA systems.

For added privacy, once a profile is created, the essential data of other travellers in the group QR code such as NRIC/FIN, Malaysian ID number, passport number, will be masked.

If travellers have reservations about sharing their personal details with the driver, they can self-scan their individual QR code or present their passport for immigration clearance.
