When will the Large Families Scheme start and when will the benefits be paid?
The Large Families Scheme will begin on the same day as the Budget 2025 announcement (18 February 2025).
Eligible children born from 18 February 2025 will receive the increased Child Development Account (CDA) First Step Grant (FSG) starting from end February 2025 and the Large Family MediSave Grant (LFMG) starting from mid March 2025.
The increased CDA FSG will be paid out around 2 weeks after the opening of a CDA. The LFMG will be paid out around 2 weeks after successful enrolment into the Baby Bonus Scheme.
Eligible children born between 2019 to 2024 will first receive the Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) in September 2025. Eligibility will be determined as of 1 August 2025.
Eligible children born in 2025 will first receive the LFLC in April 2026. Thereafter, the LFLC will continue to be paid out annually in April for eligible children. Eligibility will be determined as of 1 March of each disbursement year.
Any changes in families' eligibility that occur after the respective eligibility assessment date will only be taken into account for the following year's LFLC disbursement.
Credits will be paid into the LifeSG app digital wallet of the eligible child's CDA trustee in MSF's records. Recipients will be notified via SMS by MSF once the credits have been disbursed into their LifeSG app digital wallet. Please ensure that your details (e.g. CDA trustee information, contact details) are correct and accurately reflected on Myinfo and with MSF.
