When do I need to submit an application for permit to work in or near public areas?
An application has to be submitted to the relevant land-managing agencies for permission to carry out works in areas managed by the respective agencies before works commence, and after necessary prior planning approval has been obtained from the relevant authorities or agencies.These works include:
- excavation to lay or repair utility services,
- soil investigation works,
- parking a vehicular crane on the road to carry out hoisting works etc for construction or repair of a building, and
- any other works that requires the occupation of a section of the road for the construction or repair works.
