Who can register as a member of the LTA.PROMPT?
The following persons are eligible to register as members of the LTA.PROMPT:

Authorised officer or Professional Engineer
He must fulfil the requirements as specified in Question 2 above. For authorised officers from a Statutory Board, Government Agency or Utility Service Provider, a letter of authorisation issued by the relevant agency must be attached authorising the officer to register as an applicant for that agency. |

Contractor
Contractors who wish to carry out works in or near public areas must apply to be registered with the LTA.PROMPT as a competent contractor, subject to the Land Transport Authority's (LTA) approval. The types of works that the competent contractors can carry out depend on their respective registration category with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) or as determined by the LTA for contractors who are not registered with the BCA. |

Qualified Site Supervisor
A person can only register as a qualified site supervisor if he possesses a certificate in Pavement Construction and Maintenance Course issued by the Construction Industry Training Institute (CITI) or if he holds a recognised degree in civil engineering or if he holds a recognized diploma in civil engineering with at least 5 years experience in road-related works. |
Explanatory Notes for Applicant, Contractor and Site Supervisor

Applicant (Professional Engineer)
This is for Professional Engineers (PE) who wish to register as applicants for works in or near public areas. The services of the PE are required for development works and any other works that require the occupation of public areas, such as lane closure for parking a mobile crane to carry out hoisting work. A PE is one who is registered as a civil or structural engineer under the Professional Engineers?Act and who possesses a valid practising certificate under that Act. |

Applicant (Agency/Department)
This is for officers of Government Agencies, Statutory Boards and Utility Services Providers who have been authorised by their respective agencies or companies to submit applications for permit to work in or near public areas on behalf of their organisations. A letter of authorisation issued by the relevant agency or company must be attached authorising the officer to register as an applicant for that agency or company. |

Contractor

Site Supervisor
This is for site supervisors who are responsible for site safety and site management.A person can only register as a site supervisor if he possesses a certificate in Pavement Construction and Maintenance Course issued by the CITI or if he holds a recognised degree in civil engineering or if he holds a recognized diploma in civil engineering with at least 5 years experience in road-related works. |
