Why are some of the books used by my child's school out of stock at the school bookshop?

Every year prior to the sale of the books, MOE conducts an exercise to collate the estimated textbook requirements from schools so that publishers can print sufficient copies of books to meet market demand.

Despite these measures, stock shortages may still arise from unexpected increase in demand or insufficient orders by booksellers.

To further improve the availability of textbooks, MOE will closely monitor the orders placed by school booksellers and will require publishers to carry additional buffer stocks.
