School placement assessments for preschool-aged children are available:

At the Department of Child Development at the KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).
At the Child Development Unit at the National University Hospital (NUH).
At some Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children (EIPIC) centres. For children who are placed in an EI centre, ECDA requires all centres to complete a holistic review of each child’s profile to understand how to best provide support in the transition to primary school.
With private practitioners.

These assessments are usually conducted during the year that your child is due to register for Primary 1 of a mainstream school or Primary 1 / Junior 1 of a special education (SPED) school.

For older children who are already enrolled in a mainstream school, but do not find the setting suitable for them, parents may approach the school to discuss potential assessment options.
