Is CCA participation compulsory in schools?

Updated by MOE

In secondary schools, CCA participation is compulsory. All secondary school students must have a school-based CCA each year from one of the four CCA types, namely Clubs & Societies, Physical Sports, Uniformed Groups, and Visual and Performing Arts.

At the primary and pre-university levels, while it is not compulsory for students to participate in school-based CCA, participation is strongly encouraged.
