What is the difference between the Higher Education Bursary and Higher Education Community Bursary Schemes? Will a student be entitled to both bursaries at the same time?
The Higher Education Community Bursary and the Higher Education Bursary Schemes are offered to students from different income brackets who are studying in our Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).
From Academic Year (AY) 2023, the Higher Education Community Bursary scheme is offered to Singaporean students with gross monthly household income of $4,400 and below; or gross monthly household per capita income of $1,100 and below.
The Higher Education Bursary scheme is offered to Singaporean students with gross monthly household income between $4,401 and $10,000; or gross monthly household per capita income of between $1,101 - $2,500, from AY2023.
Students cannot receive both the Higher Education Community Bursary and Higher Education Bursary in the same academic year. However, students who need additional financial assistance may be considered for other aid schemes if they are assessed to need the additional aid. They can approach their IHL for more information.
