If I do not consume my leave benefits within my current contract as a relief educator, may I consume my unconsumed leave balance in a subsequent contract?

If the subsequent contract is considered continuous, any unconsumed leave balance (except annual leave) will be carried over to the new contract. If the subsequent contract is considered non-continuous, the unconsumed leave balance will be forfeited and you will have to accumulate at least another 90 days of service before being eligible for leave benefits.

The engagement of relief educators must be based on the needs of the school. You should not expect schools to engage you on continuous contracts, thereby allowing you to utilise any unconsumed leave benefits.
