Yes, the PSEA is an account maintained by the Government for eligible Singaporeans, as such all special education (SPED) students who are Singapore citizens will be eligible for the account.

The primary objective is to help parents save for their children’s post-secondary education.

A PSEA will be opened automatically for Singaporeans who:

  • Have balance in their Child Development Account (CDA) when they turn 13 years old (for children born after 2005); or
  • Have balance in their Edusave Account in the year they turn 17 years old, or no longer studying in an MOE-funded school, whichever is later; or
  • Are eligible for a Government contribution.

The PSEA can be used for programmes in government-supported SPED schools, Institute of Technical Education (ITE), or Polytechnics; and training courses for persons with disabilities under SG Enable.
