My child is in the option band as he met the PSLE score for two Posting Groups. He was posted to a secondary school based on my chosen Posting Group. Can I request for a change in Posting Group when appealing for school transfer to my preferred school?
Under Full Subject-Based Banding initiative, eligible students have the flexibility to take some subjects at a more or less demanding level depending on their subject-specific strengths and learning needs. Students have access to a wider range of subject offerings and programmes.
We encourage you to allow your child to settle into their posted school as it is crucial for them to begin their secondary education. Allowing your child to settle into their current education environment without interruption can facilitate a smoother transition into their newly posted school.
Notwithstanding the above, it is possible for you to appeal to your preferred school for admission through a different Posting Group if your child had met the school’s cut-off point of your requested Posting Group. However, school transfers are subjected to available vacancies and meeting the school’s admission criteria. For more information, please refer to your preferred school’s website.
