What requirements do international students from non-mainstream schools have to meet to in order to participate and admit to a secondary school via DSA-Sec?
International Students must be between 12 and 14+ years old as at 1st January of the year of S1 admission. If they are not taking the PSLE, they will have to take part and fulfil the requirements of the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) before they can be considered for admission to secondary school via DSA-Sec. Do apply early as the application for AEIS-Secondary tests will close early when all places are filled.
If your child is applying to Specialised Independent Schools including the NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, School of Science and Technology and School of the Arts, please refer to the schools’ websites for their admission criteria.
All applicants who are shortlisted for the DSA-Sec selection will have to attend the selection trials in-person, if required, at the schools.
For International Students residing overseas, you should submit an application only if the applicant is able to enter Singapore. You can refer to the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority for more information.
