Should I test myself with an ART if I suspect that I have COVID-19?
With vaccination, most COVID-19 infections tend to be mild. ART testing is no longer routinely needed for healthy persons with acute respiratory infection (ARI) symptoms.
If you are medically vulnerable with ARI symptoms, or have severe, prolonged or worsening ARI symptoms, you should seek medical help.
If you have mild ARI symptoms, you should stay at home until you recover.
If there is a need to go out while you are symptomatic, or if you are asymptomatic but test positive for COVID-19 – minimise social interactions, wear a mask, avoid crowded places, do not visit vulnerable settings such as hospitals and nursing homes, and do not have contact with vulnerable persons, such as the elderly.
