As an employee, if I apply for unpaid leave while serving my notice, can my employer extend my notice period?
The notice period gives you and your employer time to plan for a smooth handover and transition. Both parties should agree on how you will spend this period, including planning of leave and work duties.
If your employer approves unpaid leave during your notice period, your notice period remains the same duration. It does not need to be extended unless both parties agree to do so.
