Will the Government extend or increase the one-off additional MediSave top-ups for older Pioneers with serious pre-existing conditions beyond 2025? If not, why not?
From 2026, there will no longer be an Additional Premium charged to Pioneers with serious pre-existing conditions. As these Pioneers with serious pre-existing conditions will transition to paying the same MediShield Life premium as others in the same cohort, there will no longer be a need for an additional top-up for Pioneers with serious pre-existing conditions.
Even after the one-off additional MediSave top-up has ended, the Government will continue to keep premiums affordable for all Pioneers through Pioneer Generation subsidies and the lifetime annual MediSave top-ups.
