If you are born 1980 or later, CareShield Life is universal for you, including those with pre-existing severe disabilities

a) If you are born in 1980 to 1990, you will be enrolled in 2020.
b) If you born from 1991 onwards, you will be enrolled at age 30.

If you are born 1979 or earlier, CareShield Life is optional for you. You are encouraged to join CareShield Life in 2021 if you are not severely disabled.

a) There is no maximum entry age.
b) If you born in 1970 to 1979 and are currently enrolled on ESH 400 and are not claiming, you will be auto-enrolled in 2021. You can opt out by end 2023.
c) (For MG members) If you born in 1969 or earlier, you can step forward to apply to join the scheme in 2021. You will receive information on how to sign up, closer to 2021.
