The public has been adequately informed of the Physical Currency and Bearer Negotiable Instruments (CBNI) reporting requirement and of their obligations under the law. There are also reminders placed strategically at the checkpoints to remind travellers of their reporting obligations. Reminders are also included in the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) to remind overseas travellers of their obligations.
Notwithstanding, Police will be thorough in its investigation and will assess the circumstances of each case accordingly. Police will prosecute person if it is found that he/she had not made the cash report wilfully.
