What is the Home Detention Advisory Committee?

The Home Detention Advisory Committee is appointed by the Minister for Home Affairs to review cases of prisoners who are eligible for home detention and which fall within the guidelines to release on home detention. The Committee is responsible for examining the cases' suitability for release and to make recommendations to the Commissioner of Prisons.
