Reading materials for inmates are generally permitted in Singapore's four official languages: English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil.

Materials in other languages will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to SPS's approval. All books and magazines undergo security screening, which may take up to 2 weeks to complete.

Currently, there is no list of pre-approved books. Visitors are encouraged to purchase reading materials for inmates at the visit shop in Prison Link Centre (Changi).

Please note that books with hardened covers will be rejected.
