This article helps you find your FIN when you can't locate it on your original documents, have lost your IPA letter, or worked in Singapore years ago and need your FIN for current applications.

Prerequisites

Before you start, gather any of these documents if you have them:

  • Previous work permits or employment passes

  • Old passport with Singapore entry stamps

  • Any correspondence from MOM or ICA

  • Employment records from your time in Singapore

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Check your digital documents first

Log into your SingPass account at singpass.gov.sg and look under "My Profile" for any stored immigration documents.

Tip: If you don't have SingPass or can't access it, skip to step 2.

2. Contact the issuing agency directly

For work pass holders: Call or visit MOM at 6438 5122 or submit an online enquiry at mom.gov.sg/contact-us

For long-term visit pass holders: Contact ICA at 6391 6100 or visit ica.gov.sg/contact-us

Tip: Have your passport number, full name as it appears on your passport, and approximate dates of your Singapore employment ready.

3. Visit the agency in person if needed

If phone or online enquiries don't work, visit:

  • MOM Services Centre at 1500 Bendemeer Road (for work passes)

  • ICA Building at 10 Kallang Road (for visit passes)

Bring your current passport and any supporting documents from your time in Singapore.

4. Request a replacement document

Ask for a replacement IPA letter or work pass that shows your FIN. There may be processing fees involved.

Troubleshooting

Can't remember which agency issued your pass? Start with MOM if you were working. Contact ICA if you were on a dependent or long-term visit pass.

Worked in Singapore over 10 years ago? Records may be archived. Be prepared to provide as much detail as possible about your employment dates, company name, and passport details from that time.

No FIN showing on your IPA letter? Some older IPA letters may not display the FIN prominently. Look for any 9-character alphanumeric code starting with F, G, or M.

Agency says they can't find your records? Double-check the spelling of your name and try variations (maiden name, different passport). Provide employment details if you have them.

What's Next

Once you have your FIN, you can use it for:

  • CPF account enquiries

  • Tax filing with IRAS

  • Banking applications
