Other than milk, preschools can also serve calcium-fortified beverages such as malted beverages and plant-based milk (e.g. soy milk, almond milk). The purpose of serving milk or calcium-fortified beverages is to ensure adequate intake of calcium to support the healthy growth and development of the children.
