Trainee teachers on the Dip Ed programme who meet the relevant criteria may be offered the opportunity to cross over to the Bachelor of Arts/Science (Education) programme if they perform well on the course, and will obtain their degree after an additional 2.5 to 3 years. These candidates will embark on the Bachelor of Arts/Science (Education) programme directly, upon completion of their studies under the Dip Ed programme.

Graduates from the Dip Ed programme who do not qualify for the Bachelor of Art/Science (Education) programme may still look forward to professional development opportunities as in-service teachers. This includes MOE scholarships, study loans or study leave to pursue a degree course. They may also pursue degree studies in the Bachelor of Art/Science (Education) programme after serving for some time as trained teachers.
