Can Returning Singaporeans give up their Leave of Absence (LOA) place in their previous school if they prefer MOE to offer a place in a primary / secondary school with vacancies near to their home?

MOE’s offer of a place is to assist Returning Singaporeans (RS) in getting back into our primary / secondary schools, having been away from Singapore. RS with LOA already have a place reserved for them in their previous school. Hence, RS who give up their LOA may not benefit from MOE’s offer of a place. RS who give up their LOA will have to approach another primary / secondary school of their choice directly to apply for admission, and the school has the discretion to decide whether to admit these RS.
