SPERS-JC/MI applicants are required to sit for the centralised tests, so as to facilitate their admission to schools with students of similar abilities. Based on their overall performance, applicants will receive a list of schools that they are eligible for, where students of comparable abilities are already studying in.

Returning Singaporeans who do not wish to participate in SPERS-JC/MI can email or call their preferred post-secondary institutions i.e. JC/MI, Polytechnics, the Institute for Technical Education or privately-funded schools directly before January of the year to apply for admission.
