My job needs me to uphold client or employer confidentiality. Can I be sued by my client or employer if I lodge a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR)?

When you file a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR), the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act provides that the disclosure shall not be treated as a breach of any restriction imposed by law, contract or rules of professional conduct. You are also not liable for any loss arising from such disclosure.
