How to fix Singpass app QR code scanner issues
Prerequisites:
Before you start, make sure you have:
The latest version of the Singpass app installed
Your Singpass ID and password ready as backup
Access to the phone number linked to your Singpass account
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Check if camera permission is enabled
For Android:
Go to your phone's Settings
Find Apps or Application Manager
Search for and select Singpass
Tap Permissions
Make sure Camera is turned on
Tip: Some Android phones may show "Privacy" or "App Permissions" instead of the options above, depending on your phone model and Android version.
For iOS:
Go to Settings
Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security
Tap Camera
Find Singpass in the list and make sure it's turned on
2. Test the QR scanner
Open the Singpass app
Tap the QR code scanner icon
Point your camera at any QR code to test
3. If the scanner still doesn't work, restart the app
Close the Singpass app completely • Reopen the app and try scanning again
For Android: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and swipe the Singpass app upward to close it completely.
For iOS: Double-tap the home button (or swipe up from the bottom and pause if you have a newer iPhone), then swipe up on the Singpass app to close it.
Troubleshooting:
QR code scanning is the only login option but scanner won't work?
Try using a different device if available
Ask someone nearby to help scan the QR code with their Singpass app

Make sure you're scanning an official government QR code
Check that you're on the correct government website
