How to submit your foreign renunciation documents
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:
Your Singpass login details
A digital copy of your foreign citizenship renunciation letter (PDF or image file)
Your citizenship application reference number
Step-by-step instructions
For applications submitted before 26 June 2024:
Go to the ICA e-Service website and log in with your Singpass.
Look for your citizenship application in your dashboard and click on it.
Find and click the "Upload Additional Documents" button within your citizenship application.
Tip: This button is usually located in the "Documents" or "Application Status" section of your application.
Select "Foreign Citizenship Renunciation Letter" from the document type dropdown menu.
Click "Choose File" and select your renunciation document from your device.
Click "Upload" to submit your document.
For applications submitted on or after 26 June 2024:
Go to the ICA e-Service website and log in with your Singpass.
Navigate to your citizenship application from the dashboard.
Look for the "Upload Documents" section and click on it.
Select "Foreign Citizenship Renunciation Letter" from the available document types.
Click "Choose File" and select your renunciation document.
Click "Upload" to submit your document.
Tip: You should see a confirmation message once your document is successfully uploaded.
Troubleshooting
Can't find the upload function?
Check that you're logged into the correct ICA e-Service account
Make sure you're looking within your specific citizenship application, not the main dashboard
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache
Upload not working?
Check that your file is in PDF, JPG, or PNG format
Make sure your file size is under 5MB
Try using a different browser
Still having trouble uploading? Contact ICA through their enquiry form and attach a copy of your foreign renunciation letter. They can help upload it for you.
What's next
Once you've uploaded your document, you can check your application status in the ICA e-Service to confirm it was received. ICA will contact you if they need any additional information.
