What is the Teacher Training Agreement (TTA)?
The TTA is a contractual agreement where the candidate commits himself or herself to undertake the responsibilities and obligations of a trainee teacher at the National Institute of Education (NIE). Untrained teachers who are eligible for enrolment at NIE will be informed by MOE through email. All officers sponsored by MOE for teacher training are required to sign the TTA before admission into NIE.
Officers are required to serve a teaching bond upon completion of their teacher training at NIE. This is because the Government would have invested a significant sum of money in training and expects a reasonable period of contribution to the Education Service. The duration of the bond depends on the training programme the officer is undertaking. This duration is specified in the TTA.
