The Singapore Government provides funding for International Students (IS). However, the cost of education for Singapore Citizens (SC) and Permanent Residents (PR) is much more heavily subsidized, and this is reflected in the difference in tuition fees paid. In return for subsidized fees, IS in the polytechnics and Autonomous universities are required to serve out a service obligation by working in Singapore-based companies for 3 years upon graduation.
