My child met the previous year's cut-off points (COP) released by MOE, which we had used as a guide when making school choices. Why is my child not posted into the secondary school?
Meeting the previous year’s COP of a school does not guarantee admission. The PSLE score ranges currently displayed in the SchoolFinder are based on the PSLE scores and school choice patterns of the P6 cohort of 2023, and should only be used as a reference.
2024 COPs of the schools will be determined only after the conclusion of 2024 S1 Posting, and may differ from previous year’s COPs, as it is based on the 2024 students’ PSLE results and school choices made during this year’s S1 Posting.
If there are two or more students with the same PSLE score vying for the last available vacancies in the school, tie-breakers will be used. The tie-breakers are in the following order:
- Citizenship – Singapore citizens, then Permanent Residents, then international students.
- Choice order of schools.
- Computerised balloting.
As a result, it is possible for students whose PSLE score meet the COP of the school to be tie-broken out.
