Will my child be able to withdraw from Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL) after opting for the subject in Secondary One?

Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL) is a four-year course, and all HMTL students are expected to sit for GCE O- Level HMTL examination at Secondary Four.

Your child may withdraw from HMTL if the school has assessed him/her to be unable to cope with this subject, and it is affecting the performance in other subjects. In such case, your child will revert to take the MTL instead and his/her secondary school will advise you on the withdrawal procedure.
