Why are part-time polytechnic diploma programmes shorter in duration than full-time diploma programmes? Is the quality of the programme affected by the shorter length?
The course duration of part-time Diploma programmes has generally been halved from five years (1,800 hours) to approximately two and a half years (900 hours). This has been achieved without compromising quality and rigour by removing components that are less relevant to adult learners, such as internships and academic modules that are primarily for university articulation.
